Right-of-way video frames
Notes on how we crop the right-of-way video frames
A right-of-way video frame collected in 2007 is of size 1080x1920 (row x col). A caption is near the top of the frame.
In Fall 2007, we trim a region of size 31x1026 starting from the (1,1) location to OCR the caption.
Also in Fall 2007, we trim a region of size 980x1920 to do segmentation. We skip 100 rows to clear the DOTD logo in the top right corner of the frame.
Upon closer inspection in Winter 2007, we realize the video frame does not occupy the entire image. That was why we had started the trimming at (1,1) when we OCR'ed the captions.
The new trimming protocol is to cut a region of size 976x1912 starting at (100,4). Effectively, this leaves out the top 100 rows to clear the DOTD logo, and eliminates a 4-pixel wide band along the left, right, and bottom edges.
